IPS: Lloyd wins again - this time in Iowa
Last-ditch attempt paid off

Alex Lloyd took his record eighth career IndyPro Series victory by patiently waiting for just the right time to dive under Wade Cunningham at the Iowa Speedway. Cunningham had led 105 of the 115 laps, before losing the lead to Lloyd on lap 106.

"Today's race was brilliant for us," said Lloyd who has won six of eight IPS races in 2007. "It was so difficult to pass out there... I figured I would stay on the high side for a bit and leave the bottom for later in the race because I figured I would have one chance at getting the lead."

"So I left it as long as I dared to, got that run at the end and put my nose in there, and I know he wasn't expecting that," he added.

Cunningham knew Lloyd would make that move eventually. "He worked hard for that pass and he had it, I don't think I could have done anything more without winding up in the steward's office."

Hideki Mutoh finished third. Sean Guthrie had battled with Mutoh all race long before getting loose off of turn four and then crashing hard into the inside front straight wall.

He has been diagnosed with a displaced fracture of his left foot and will be treated at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
