Vision duo in the top ten
Richmond - Vision Racing - Race

Vision Racing drivers Tomas Scheckter and Ed Carpenter earned a pair of top-10 finishes in the SunTrust Indy Challenge presented by XM, under the lights at Richmond International Raceway this evening. Team-mate A.J. Foyt IV finished 13th.

Since qualifying for the race was rained out on Friday evening, the IndyCar Series grid was set by championship point standings. Thus, Scheckter, Carpenter and Foyt started 10th, 15th and 17th on the three-quarter-mile oval.

Wasting no time, both Scheckter and Carpenter got off to great starts and by the first round of pit stops, Scheckter had run as high as sixth and Carpenter 11th. Driving the No. 2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone, Scheckter ran as high as fifth in the race and his seventh place finish is his sixth top-10 finish of the season in nine races. Scheckter remains 10th in the point standings for the third straight race.

Carpenter, in the No. 20 Hitachi Power Tools special, ran as high as ninth and earned two spots in the championship point standings with his second top-10 finish in as many weeks. He is now 13th in the point standings and has four top-10 finishes on the season.

The No. 22 Vision Racing entry and Foyt will remain in the 17th spot in the point standings in spite of a clean race and 13th place finish. Foyt has remained consistent this season as he has been running at the finish in six of the nine events thus far.
