2004

2003
- Competed in 10 events for three different teams en route to a 17th-place finish in IRL IndyCar Series point standings.
- Scored victory in the Firestone Indy 400 at Michigan driving for Mo Nunn Racing as a substitute for injured Felipe Giaffone.
- Missed first two events of the season before driving for Marlboro Team Penske as a substitute for the injured Gil de Ferran in Japan Indy 300. Finished 17th after an accident.
- Came to Indianapolis without a ride, but took over for injured Arie Luyendyk on May 15 driving for Mo Nunn Racing. Qualified May 18th with a four-lap average of 227.274 mph. Started 25th and finished sixth. In two career starts at Indianapolis, Barron has advanced a total of 41 positions.
- Sat out the four races after Indy without a ride before filling in for Giaffone for five races in July and August.
- Replaced Buddy Rice at Red Bull Cheever Racing for final three races of the season. Finished seventh at Chicagoland

2002
- Finished fifth in IRL IndyCar Series point standings, scoring win at Nashville while driving for Blair Racing in first full year of IndyCar Series competition.
- Scored 11 top-10 finishes.
- Started 26th at Indianapolis 500, led seven laps, including laps 161-165, before finishing fourth. Shared Bank One co-Rookie of the Year honors with Tomas Scheckter.

- Made CART debut with All-American Racers, owned by American racing legend Dan Gurney.
- Started 17 races in CART with AAR, with a top finish of 12th at Rio de Janeiro and Houston. Led 12 laps at Vancouver.

1997
- Won Toyota Atlantic championship as a rookie with five victories and four poles, driving for Lynx Racing. Named series Rookie of the Year.
- Won U.S. gearbox karting championship.

1996
- Competed in U.S. F2000 with DSTP Racing, recording six top-10 finishes.

- Competed in kart racing, winning three U.S. national titles in 1995.
