- Started 10th and led 85 laps before finishing 26th at Indianapolis 500. Named Bank One co-Rookie of the Year with Alex Barron.
- Led five races for a total of 443 laps.
- Earned MBNA Poles at spring Texas race, Kansas and Michigan.
2001
- Runner-up in the Formula Nissan championship with four victories and eight poles.
- Served as a test driver for the Jaguar Racing Formula One team from January-May.
2000
- Runner-up in the British Formula 3 championship with two victories and two pole positions.
- Finished third in prestigious Marlboro Masters F3 race at Zandvoort.
- Competed in final four races of FIA Formula 3000 Championship, with a runner-up finish.
1999
- Won Formula Opel Euroseries championship with a record eight victories and eight poles.
- Competed in last two races of Formula Nissan championship, winning the pole in both and victory in one.
1998
- Finished third in the British Formula Vauxhall Junior series with one victory and one pole. Named series Rookie of the Year.
1997
- Earned two victories in the South African Formula Ford series.
1995
- Won South African karting championship.
